I have a passion for teaching, in all its forms. My clients often that I'm able to explain complex physiology in entertaining, easy-to-understand terms. When I am working with a client or teaching a class, all my concerns and worldly worries vanish and time flies by! Over the past 19 years, I've coached hundreds of individuals, including young and old, both genders, pregnant women, athletes, and the very sedentary.
I offer several programs and services to help people move toward their goals: Fitness By Phone® Coaching, Conventional Personal Training at the gym, Intuitive Eating, Teleclasses, Learning to Grocery Shop, Body Fat Testing and Anthropometric Measurements, In-line Skating Lessons, and Public Speaking. I am a free lance writer and have authored many published articles. The best way for you to get a feel for how I help folks is to visit my web site, www.tlcfitness.net, have a look around, and sign up to receive my complimentary health and fitness e-newsletter, The Good Life.
My intention is to turn as many clients as possible into self-sufficient exercisers. I make this clear at the beginning of the relationship, but those who become capable of doing independently what I've taught them can certainly continue to work with me if they choose to. Some of my clients have worked with me for years because they simply enjoy our sessions together and there is always more they can learn from me. I enjoy helping my clients and students discover the empowerment of making mindful choices each day, and celebrating their God-given abilities and freedom to achieve their aspirations.
An in-depth interview is conducted with my new clients which asks them about their entire health, medical, exercise, and nutrition background. My clients are then expected to provide any pertinent information about their lifestyle habits throughout our coaching relationship; I value and rely upon their input as an integral component of the attainment of their goals.
Continuing education is essential to my natural curiosity about all things health-related. Therefore, I make ample time in my schedule to read, research, and successfully complete various coursework, year-round. I am a CEC provider myself, sharing my expertise with other health professionals at fitness conferences.
A dynamic staminac myself, I practice what I preach— teaching fitness classes, resistance training, dancing, tumbling, flying trapeze, and skating.
