Fitness and being active have always been important facets of my life. Growing up and throughout college, dancing was my passion. Dancing taught me discipline and was the balance in my life; it also taught me body position and alignment and helped me develop a sense of self-awareness.
In my adult life I’ve searched to fill the void left behind when I stopped dancing. I took my first yoga class 5 years ago and knew as soon as I left that class that yoga was the passion to fill that void. Last year I completed the AAAI Yoga I Certification, and I credit my background in dance with providing me a solid foundation from which I’ve been able to build my yoga practice.
I have enjoyed exploring different types of yoga as I grow my practice and have also enjoyed teaching and helping others find their own piece of enjoyment in yoga as they grow their own practice. Yoga has brought flexibility and energy to my life, and I can’t think of a better activity to pair yoga with than traveling to spread the same flexibility and energy to other yogis.
