Gail Seraneau
is a native of Trinidad & Tobago.
She received early dance training in classical ballet with the Caribbean
based London Academy of Ballet, at age
three. Showing immense talent, she
migrated to New York City where she furthered her training in the Dunham
technique at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre,
Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Charles & Ella Moore Arts Center
and Cleveland James Dance Company. She began teaching African Caribbean Dance
in the Dance/Fitness Industry where the demand was strong. She became the Founder & Director of “Workout Hut, Incorporated” in Brooklyn, New York, until relocating
to South Florida. Through the rhythmic live drum beats, percussion instruments
and vigorous choreography, participants of her dance classes, got a glimpse of
African & Caribbean culture. Gail
combines her ballet technique with historical African, Caribbean and
contemporary dance movements to create a unique and exciting dance form. She has taught African Caribbean Dance
workshops at New York University, various Corporate Venues and The
United States Department of Labor, where she was employed as a Recreation
Specialist. Since relocating to Miami,
she has taught African Caribbean dance classes at Doral Golf Resort and Spa, Visa
International, Regency Resort and
Spa, Barry University and dance
fitness classes at Nova Southeastern University’s
Campus Recreation Department. She is currently conducting Cardio SOCA
classes at The City of Sunrise Athletic
Center.
