After winning a radio contest and a free membership to Bally's Gym in Brooklyn, NY at the age of 18 I am became hooked on group fitness and the amazing affect it had on my body - i would work all day and take the train to the gym as much as i could. Working out always left me feeling invincible and even after the birth of my children it was something that i could do just for me. I was a certified gym rat and thought i was the aerobics queen. Unfortunately my body taught me a lesson that in order for it to change I had to change what i did to it and with the support and encouragement of some amazing friends i went and received my Group Power Certification and then my AFFA Group Fitness certification - It was the hardest thing i had done since becoming a parent. It is also one of the things I am most proud of. Teaching group fitness has become such a huge part of my life and I love the people I get to meet and encourage on their own journeys. I finshed my first 10 mile race in under two hours and I recently competed in my first Tough Mudder Event an 11 mile obstacle course and I realized that all my hard work has paid off. I look forward to more challenges in the future.
