Suzanne Raspa

My passion for fitness began in high school in Marlboro, New Jersey where I ran varsity cross country and track for four years.  I began working as a physical therapy aid at Game Shape Physical Therapy and Sport Performance Center in Manalapan, NJ after receiving physical therapy there myself for two ankle sprains in high school.  I still work at Game Shape over the summer when I am home from college.  I currently attend Louisiana State University where I am pursuing two bachelor's degrees (Kinesiology/Human Movement Science Pre-Physical Therapy and Nutrition/Dietetics).  I work at the University Recreation Center on campus and absolutely love my job teaching group exercise classes.  I will be graduating in May 2013 and then plan to pursue a dietetic internship to earn a certification as a Registered Dietitian.  I would like to help people achieve optimum total health through both fitness and nutrition.
I also love to travel, which was what sparked my interest in FitnessPro Travel.  I studied abroad in southern California for a semester through the National Student Exchange Program and it thrilled me to explore a new state.  While I was there, I also enthusiastically planned and took trips to Nevada and to the Grand Canyon.  One day, I hope to explore and take zip lining tours through the rain forests of Costa Rica and Cairns, Australia.
This summer, I plan to earn a personal training certification so that I can also use my skills to help people achieve their fitness goals in a more individualized, personal setting.
My hobbies include working out and taking fitness classes, training for running races and sprint triathlons, surfing, horseback riding, writing, reading (I am particularly interested in learning about psychology), and cooking.  I also joined the Physical Theatre Club at LSU this past fall and have been learning Aerial Silks skills.  This unique form of art is not only a performance, but also an excellent upper body, core, and flexibility workout.
I would be delighted to use my winter, spring, and summer breaks to travel and bring my love of fitness to resorts in new places.
