My name is Anastasia Droungas and I am a full time Group Fitness Instructor currently teaching a total of 32hrs/week at TSI NYSC in NJ and also at RUTGERS UNIVERSITY. I have been a Group Fitness instructor since 1984 and a full time instructor since 1998. I have taught fitness classes in CANADA (Halifax, NS) and in GREECE (Athens), as well as in the US (Philadelphia PA, and various locations around NJ). I have taught at Gyms (NYSC, GOLDS, WOW), Universities (UPENN, RUTGERS, DALHOUSIE), Corporate (BMS).
I am certified and qualified to teach a variety of cardio classes, strength training classes, as well as balance and stability classes and Pilates. My favorite classes to teach are STEP, SPINNING, TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING on BOSU or BODYWEDGE and PILATES.
My STEP classes are full of fun dance routines. I teach single and double STEP (2 platforms). People tell me that they love my STEP classes because "time just flies by without knowing it".
My SPINNING classes adhere to the guidelines of MAD DOGG ATHLETICS. I teach the ENERGY ZONES allowing participants to tailor their workout to their needs and ability.
I am an avid cyclist. During the spring, summer and fall I ride my bike an average of 200 miles per week as I commute to all the gyms where I teach. My TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING classes are aimed at teaching proper technique and isolation. Safety is my first priority so that participants can increase muscle definition and bone density without injury or strain. I love using the BOSU or the BODYWEDGE to teach balance and stability.
Last, but not least, PILATES!!!! I have seen so many clients over the years develop beautifully regardless of age and sex. It is truly remarkable to watch clients as they develop their PILATES technique. I have seen progress in overall health and fitness in many clients. I teach PILATES in small groups and one-on-one. I teach PILATES on the REFORMER and the TOWER and also the MAT with the PILATES RING.
