My name is Katie Doria. I started doing yoga about 5 years ago. I had just started living on my own in the city and I was stressed out beyond belief. I had heard yoga was a good workout, so I decided I would give it a shot and burn off some tension. Little did I know that my first visit to a yoga studio would forever change me. I fell in love with this practice not just for the workout one gets from it, but from the spiritual and mental strength I gained as well. I learned hot to keep my anxiety at bay, how to appreciate and love my body, how to cultivate compassion for myself and others, and so many more beautiful things along the way. At one point in my life I realized how miserable working a 9-5 job was for me and with the support of my family and friends I quit to pursue a career in yoga. I found Rhonda Kantors 9 month teacher training course to become a RYT. It was one of the longer programs but I felt that anything that I felt so strongly about, I wanted to take my time learning and really soak it all in. A "2 week intensive training" just was not for me. I completed my 9 month program recently and have started to teach at a local park district as well as private a mini group lessons in home. I most certainly enjoy teaching yoga and giving my best and most personalized teaching service while proving the importance of yoga in ones life. I cannot wait to see where else this journey of yoga takes me.
