I was a professional ballet dancer for 13 years, dancing with the Oakland Ballet in the San Francisco Bay area. I also danced with other ballet companies in the midwest. After retiring from the ballet world, I attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas to receive my MFA in dance. (I had already received my BA in dance at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.) After receiving my MFA, I went on to Kansas State University where I was a tenured Associate Professor of dance for 16 years. I have made presentations at national conferences on ballet pedagogy and Pilates-based conditioning for the dancer. I have also taught ballet master classes in Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. I currently teach Zumba and yoga at Max Fitness gym and have also taught Pilates and Ballet Boot Camp. My certifications include: AFAA group ex; YogaFit Level 1, Level 2, Senior; Zumba Basics 1, Zumba Gold; Balanced Body Pilates Mat and Reformer; and CPR/AED.
