Joy Kagendo-Charles, M.Ed

Joy Kagendo-Charles is a lecturer at North Carolina
State University. She is an AFAA certified instructor and has been teaching
group fitness classes since 1995 She teaches a variety of classes which
include Aerobics, Kickboxing, Indoor Cycling (Spinning), Pilates, Strength
Training, Step Aerobics, TRX, Water Aerobics and Zumba. She is also a certified personal trainer since
1999 and is trained in First AID/CPR and AED.
Raised in
Kenya, Joy moved to the United States in 1985 to pursue a career in
nursing. She later changed it to
Physical Education and Health Education. She now lives with her family in
Raleigh, North Carolina. Joy is very involved in the community and helps
individuals put together exercise and nutrition plans as well as spends her
free time showing exercise routines to individuals who are on a weight loss
program.
