Monica Chappell

Like many first time yoga students I stumbled into a studio close to home with a few of my friends, not really knowing what to expect. It took me some time to realize that there is so much more to yoga than just showing up to class. My practice really began to evolve when I started to notice the subtle changes in my body and how powerful my practice was when I connected to my breath. I wanted to learn more about what yoga was, where it came from, and how to share my discoveries with others. After several years of practice, and with the influence of a few amazing teachers and friends, I made my way to the world-renowned Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica where I completed the first step of my teacher training.

Since completing my 200-hr training, I have founded Live Your Yoga Canada, a company that strives to make yoga accessible to everyone, I've taught at two studio locations, Samatva Yoga Studio in Kingston and Kalyana Yoga Shala in Ottawa, and I continue to offer my teaching to help with international fundraising initiatives. In December 2011, I completed a second teaching module at the Nosara Yoga Institute and will continue to participate in trainings whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I was fortunate enough to discover yoga in my teens and now have the rest of my life to learn about all that yoga has to offer and to share my yoga with others – inspiring students to discover their unique yoga one class at a time.
