Becky Almany

I recently retired from teaching English full-time at Blinn College in Bryan, Texas.  I am married to a fellow college teacher, Travis, and we have been married for 33 years. We were high school sweethearts, who met while playing in the band. I still play trumpet in my spare time. 

I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas in 1992. This qualified me to teach elementary school. After doing that for a few years, I decided to go back to school. I earned a Master of Arts in English degree in 2001 from Lamar University.

I love to read, to travel, and to run. I have run four marathons and 29 half marathons.  I also teach spinning(indoor cycling) in my spare time. I also practice yoga daily and have taught a park boot camp weekly in my neighborhood.  When I am not working or volunteering with a local cat rescue group, I love to hang out with friends. 

In June of 2023, we moved to our dream home in Dillon, Colorado for retirement. We are loving all of the activity here. Yoga, cycling, running, strength training, and skiing. It's a workout junkie's dream.
