Jeanine Chamberlain has been studying and practicing the mind /body arts for over nineteen years. Over the last ten years she began a teaching career with some of the nation’s largest and most prominent fitness clubs. She was hired on in the capacity of Director on Mind/Body and Fitness for a large national chain. She not only was able to share her passion with others through teaching, she was able to shape the direction of the clubs programs in that she was responsible for the training, hiring and continuing education of the facilities fitness instruction staff. Her format repertoire includes: Step, Kickboxing, Club Boxing, Latin Dance, Aqua, Body Sculpting, Cardio Conditioning, Boot Camp,Yogalates and Pilates. With all of the fitness formats that Jeanine was responsible to train a staff in and teach, she was drawn to yoga most due to the sense of balance that it offered her. Yoga allowed her to push herself both physically and mentally to the point that she had begun to adopt a yoga type lifestyle. She acquired her 200 hour RYT training at the Native Yoga Center in Juno Beach, Florida under the tutelage of Todd and Tamara McLaughlin. Throughout her training, her expectations of the program began to transcend the simple learning of asanas and language and became a deeper and more spiritual lifestyle for Jeanine. This is just the beginning of the journey for her as she plans to continue her studies without boundaries to develop a deep personal practice of yoga, one which she can transfer to the experiences of those she teaches.
Jeanine currently serves in the capacity of Master Trainer with the FiTour Corporation, offering national certification and education in a wide range of group fitness formats. . Jeanine is able to train and certify students with a great desire to become proficient instructors in their chosen formats.
She has an extensive background in dance beginning at the early age of 6 working as a professional dancer and actress. She appeared in several Public Service Announcements for local affiliates in and around the New York City area. This led to the starring role in a dance/musical cable television series, largely based on her life, which ran for 7 seasons. These early and childhood experiences fueled a desire in her to seek out a lifelong career in the dance /fitness arena.
“Miss Dance Olympus” was a title bestowed upon Jeanine for an international touring convention working with such names as Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance) and Broadway legend Ben Vereen. She was also appointed to a position within the US Armed Services Division to teach and instruct various dance and fitness master classes to the service men, women and children abroad. She enrolled and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Exercise Science from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was the recipients of the “most promising artist” scholarship. During this period, she also had the great pleasure of choreographing and instructing at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center in New York City, assisting the legendary choreographer Frank Hatchett.
Personally Chosen by the writer and original director Jonathon Larson, Jeanine was cast as an original member of the first New York Touring Company of the Broadway Smash hit “Rent” playing “Maureen Johnson”.
Jeanine’s search for the one thing that can make a difference in her life has been answered in the form of yoga. She is truly blessed to have found yoga….then again, it might have been yoga that found her.
Jeanine can currently be found instructing at The Ritz-Carlton, PGA National, golds gym, and native yoga center. Jeanine also has an extensive client base that she personally trains.
