Yoga, aerobics, high school math... I have been teaching in one form or another all of my adult life. My 34 years as a high school math teacher developed the ability to explain skills, concepts, and ideas so that others could understand them. My 15 years of teaching high and low impact aerobic classes developed the ability to choreograph movement to music, and deepened my understanding of anatomy and physiology. I have been practicing yoga since 1995, and teaching since 2006. I am registered with Yoga Alliance at the RYT500 level. I taught gentle flow yoga classes in a yoga studio for 3 years. In 2008, I started to volunteer my time to teach yoga classes at Gilda's Club of Western Pennsylvania, a community based cancer support center, and continue to do so. I also offer private yoga sessions in my home. I believe that the practice of yoga is accessible to everyone. Moving with the breath, quieting the mind, and developing flexibility and strength, are the primary characteristics of any yoga class I teach.
