Lola ( a certified ZUMBA instructor) is the founder of  Jinga Dance Fitness and a firm believer in the power of dance. She urges her students to set aside time to let go and have fun amidst the pressures of everyday life.

Over the past 15 years, Lola’s taken a variety of dance classes in everything from ballet to jazz. She felt instant connections to traditional styles of dance like bellydance, Brazilian Samba and salsa – attending workshops to refine her skills and performing in beautiful, elaborate costumes at festivals and cultural events. For Lola, dance became a way to relieve the pressure of graduate school – ultimately receiving her master’s degree in Museum Education – and a fast-paced IT job on Capitol Hill.

Lola’s passion for Brazilian dance, music and culture ultimately led her to ZUMBA.For Lola, it was love at first step. “ZUMBA makes dance accessible. It’s not a technique class, but rather allows people to explore movement and music from different cultures,” Lola says. “It’s also a great way to get and stay in shape.”

Her high-energy classes incorporate a variety of Brazilian rhythms including Samba, Axé, Brazilian Funk, Samba Reggae, Forro and Pagode. Every class is a celebration of dance and life that leaving participants feeling invigorated and uplifted while providing a high-energy, calorie-burning workout.
