- Anna Wells
My name is Anna Wells! Although I grew up in Kentucky, my life has landed in Round Rock, TX, right outside Austin, with my husband, Aaron.
I spent the majority of my life in the dance studio. I studied dance in college and translated that into a career dancing professionally in musical theatre. I saw some amazing places, met unique people, and danced in shows I know and love. Several years ago, I felt called to change the direction of life. I wanted to help people and felt that my career was primarily helping myself. I was not fulfilled, but I was still lost trying to figure out my new path. I decided to stop performing and moved home. While I was trying to "figure out my life," my mom mentioned something about getting an AFAA Group Exercise Certification. I loved exercise, and was fascinated by the body and decided to go for it. I never looked back after that. Thanks Mom:)
Zumba was the first natural fit for me considering my dance background. I met my husband in Kentucky. We decided to head off on an adventure, and moved to Texas. Since arriving here I have started teaching all kinds of group fitness classes in addition to Zumba. I love learning new and exciting ways to challenge myself and my class participants. I love helping people reach their fitness goals. My classes contain a diverse variety of participants. I am constantly thinking on my feet to accomodate all fitness levels. I love that my participants challenge me as much as I challenge them. I also enjoy creating new, fun, and dynamic fitness classes. Fun music and exciting new moves make people forget they are working out.
I just finished my first half marathon in November and caught the "running bug." I am excited to train for my first marathon and hope to qualify for Boston one day! I recently got certified in Les Mills CXWORX. I am proud to say I held a 5 min hover. I almsot cried when it was over because it was such a challenge. That's why I love fitness-the way we push our bodies translates into challenging our mind and lives daily. Exercise opens our minds and hearts. I am so glad to help people change their body, mind, and soul one drop of sweat at a time!
