I am the partner / owner in a homebuilding company and have been in the industry for many years. However, I have always had a love for health and fitness, so a few years ago, I decided to teach group exercise as a fun side job.
From 2009-2015, I taught Spinning classes and loved every moment. I had to give it up due to opening my yoga studio and being too busy with that and running the homebuilding company. While teaching, I grew my skills by interacting on indoor cycling related websites, taking continuing education, reading and practicing on my own. In addition to teaching and riding on my own spin bike, I am also an avid outdoor cyclist and have had training from professional coaches. All of these initiatives have made me a better coach in my own classes because I continue to learn about cycling, fitness and motivation.
I have a passion for cycling and I love to share that with others. I enjoy designing challenging and interesting classes with terrific and energetic music to give the riders the best training experience possible.
In 2011 I began practicing yoga on a regular basis and in Spring of 2013 I graduated from my 200 hour yoga teacher training through Rolf Gates. Yoga is the Yin to the Yang of cycling (and other sports and workouts that so many participate in). Yoga is a place to let go of the competition, find alignment, strength and stretch, and a peaceful mental state. I love how it complements and benefits all of the gym goers and athletes that attend. In my opinion most of us spend a lot of time pushing our bodies to do remarkable things, pushing through pain, through fatigue, through mental stress - yoga is the place to love and restore yourself. I have been teaching yoga since 2012 and even ran my own studio from 2013 thorugh 2016. Each year I try to teach several classes to raise funds for local causes and a group mission to Haiti.
In addition to cycling and yoga, I have done several triathlons, including Ironman 70.3, half marathons, a 175 mile founders one day Ride Across Wisconsin and spent about 5 years in martial arts and earned my first degree black belt in Kyuki-do.
