Shamida Coney

I have been dancing since I was 5 years old.  I am trained in ballet, tap, and jazz.  I opened En Pointe School of Dance in the town where I grew up and ran a full dance program for 10 years.  In 2000, I begin working for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.  I trained New Jersey educators how to infuse the arts into academic curriculum.  I also taught tap to students in New Jersey public schools.  In 2004, I founded the Central Jersey Arts Charter School.  This is a K-8 charter school focussed on arts integration.  I found my love for Zumba in 2008.  I am now licenced in Basics 1, Basics 2, Toning, and Aqua.  I have a true love for the arts, especially dance and I enjoy sharing that love with those around me.
