I first started exercising after my second child was born (6 years ago). I wanted to lose the weight and gain muscle tone. But here is the thing; I use to hate to exercise! I would drag myself into the gym get on an elliptical or treadmill and try to stay on it as long as I could. I started bringing music to listen to while I worked out. It kind of helped me workout longer, but I found myself dancing and almost falling off the equipment! Then I found Zumba Fitness!! You mean I can dance and get a calorie burn all at the same time?? Add in the extra bonus my love for Latin Music & there you have it….the perfect workout! Except it is so much fun it feels more like a party than a workout! You have to try it to see! It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you can dance…if you love music and you keep moving, you are going to get a great workout. Keep coming back and the next thing you know, you will be picking up moves that you never thought you could! 

Another workout that I dreaded was abs and core. Ugghh, not another crunch! But with CXWORX you get the most bang for your workout minute. It is only a 30 minute workout that will have you feeling and seeing a difference quickly. Set to upbeat music, this workout targets specific muscle groups from abs, to core, to back , to butt. So it balances the workout and gives you overall strength. With this training, along with my Zumba training I can combine the workout with great choreography to give a similar effect to CXWORX but with different music.

I am excited about brining the Zumba Fitness Party to the Pool in March. Aqua Zumba takes the fun Latin tunes from Zumba and adds resistance training from the water. The result is a totally different workout with the same fun feel!

Since I have become a fitness instructor, I am now addicted to exercise! But I can totally appreciate people who are turned off or hesitant of exercise. I try to bring that understanding to my classes. There are all different levels of fitness and I try to vary the workout so anyone can achieve their fitness goals.
