Lisa Balan

I am a Yoga Instructor who is a former athlete trained in traithalons.  I have always been an athlete all of my life swimming, diving, participating in ballet and gymnastics from a young age through college.  I took up the sport of triathalons and completed several.  I have always had a passion for running, biking, hiking and swimming and personal fitness.  I have participated in body sculpting, kickboxing, weight lifting, tai chi along many other sporting passions.

I have always been practicing yoga throughout my years but really fell in love with it and found my passion 4 years ago.  It is through that passion that I completed my 200 hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) with Susan Smith Power Flow Yoga/1-Yoga in May 2011.  I have been voluntering teaching yoga since January 2011.  I love to teach yoga to everyone and truly believe that everyone should have some aspect of yoga incoporated in their lives whether they are athletes, coporate executives, housewives, children, lawyers, doctors, dads and just about everyone.  I believe in the holistic healing and benefits mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually that yoga incoporates.  I am very passionate about bringing yoga to everyone.

I currently teach 4 classes per week.  Two Hot Power Yoga Sculpt.  One Happy Zen/Rock Your Asanas Power Hour.  One Hot Vinyasa Power Flow Class.  I also sub for my fellow yoga instructors several times a week, so on average I teach 4-8 classes per week.

I am a mother of five very active children.  Son, Alexi/19 yrs. old, freshman in college.  Triplet girls/11 years old (Maya, Serena & Sofia).  And an 8 yr. old girl (Bella). 

I attended Virginia Tech Institute for 2 years studying international business and economics.  I finished my collegiate studies and graduated from University of Delaware in Consumer Economics in August 1991.  I was employed full time from 1991 to December 2005 by Dr. Alexander D. Balan, M.D., P.A., a general surgeon in Wilmington, Delaware as an Office Manager/Accountant.
