While working in an office environment for 7 years, I often wondered what I was doing with my life. I knew that sitting at a desk all day was not going to make me happy for the rest of my life. I had to find something that I knew that I would enjoy doing and something that I would love to wake up to everyday. I knew I loved the feeling of how I felt after I had completed a hard workout and knew that I wanted to help other feel that way. I wanted to make a change in people's lives. It was the turning point in my life when I first decided to go ahead with a Fitness Instructor certification. and from there, the certifications began. I then received my Personal Training certification, and am now registered and anxiously awaiting to receive my Kettlebell Certification in May 2012. I have a list of certifications that I want to obtain and I am on my way in achieving them. I have been training for the past year and am loving every minute of it. Not only has it been more rewarding than ever imagined but it is a continuous learning experience. I love that I am always learning and receiving more certifications and able to continuously provide my clients with the knowledge and expertise to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. My dreams are coming true.
I wanted to leave the above part there... fast forward 7 years later and several years later working for the Government, and I have finally made the decision to leave and to take on my business full time! Since the above paragraph, I have obtained many other certifications such as UGI Fitness, Nutrition & Wellness, Group Fitness, 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, Pound Fitness and Generation Pound. I also wanted to include my bio on my website:
My love for fitness stemmed back many years ago when Rhythmic Gymnastics entered my life. For 15 of those years, I dedicated myself to the endless hours of training and competed as a Provincial athlete and then went on to Coaching. I have been fortunate enough to have developed these skills at an early age and have truly found my passion for fitness in life.
Perfectly Fit was established in 2012 but the journey didn’t begin there. I registered for my first bootcamp session in 2008 and instantly fell in love with the ladies only group setting and felt myself getting stronger and more confident in the matter of a few weeks. In 2009, I knew that I wanted to change my life, in the way that I could have an influence on other women's health and fitness journeys, just like my trainers and biggest inspirations had given me. I started taking health and fitness courses and my list of certifications began. I started teaching in 2011 and the rest is history. Perfectly Fit has brought so much happiness to my life and it's all because of the wonderful group of women who inspire me on a daily basis.
In March of 2019, I took the biggest leap of faith. After almost 15 years working for the Government, I decided to take a leave and pursue my dreams with Perfectly Fit.
Outside of being a trainer, you will most likely catch me out in the fresh air reading a book, boating, fishing, camping or simply relaxing. I love spontaneity, sunsets, cooking, my family, my husband (my bestest friend), beaches and quality time at home. I like change and the challenge that comes along with it. But most importantly, I love the rewarding feeling and the inspiration that my clients give me in becoming the best trainer that I can be.
