I currently work at Dalhousie University. I do personal training, dance fitness classes, kettlebell classes and bootcamps. I also do fitness testing for varsity athletes and recreational exercisers. I write some strength and conditioning programs for the athletes as well. I have done corporate wellness initiatives in the past. I have done military fitness testing as well as fitness tested high level athletes. I write a monthly fitness column for a magazine (www.theg.ca). I also teach a group fitness class for a company called Ufit Inc. (www.ufit.ca)
I have been teaching a dance fitness class of my own creation for the last number of years. It is called Groove Fit. I make up all the choreography myself. I do hip hop, Latin, and just about any dance style that I think people will like. I have choreographed 2 flash mobs and have participated in many. In the Summer I teach dance at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Besides personal trainer at Dalhousie University, I do in home personal training and outdoor bootcamps. I am highly involved in volunteering in the community and teach dance at many charity events such as Relay for Life, school fundraisers, etc.
I'm currently a Lululemon Community Fitness Ambassador.
I love fitness and I love travelling. I love teaching people about fitness and helping them reach their goals. I love to make fitness fun. To be able to do what I love and travel at the same time would just be the ultimate experience.
Yours in fitness and wellness,
Ryan Cairns CSEP-CPT
