I started out as a student in aerobic classes and knew I wanted to become a teacher. I was always an active tennis player and played on several teams. After my two boys became old enough I went for my aerobic certification with AFFA 1980. Later received my personal training certification and then went on to train with IDEA. I stayed within my community of Warren and build a very good following of students. At this point I decided to set up a business and hire other instructors to work and help me out. The business was Fitness, Inc. The business was based out the Racquets Club of Warren and was very sucessful. Moving forward I took pilates classes in Princeton with Anthony Rabarra at his studio. I fell in love with Pilates and knew this is where I wanted to go at this point in my life. So I trained with Anthony at his Studio in Princeton and Janinne Galatte at Alternative Fitness in Philadelphia. At this time not many people knew about pilates and getting certified in some cases simply meant working with someone and then working at their facilty which I did for some time. Then later went to Physical Mind and did some work with PowerHouse Pilates. I opened Studio Fitness in Warren, New Jersey in 2000. I was the only Pilates Studio in Warren at the time and had people coming from all demographics for the first two years. Then Pilates was well know and studios were opening all around me. In 2004 I sold to one of my instructors and I stayed on as a teacher for 4 years until she sold. I took a year off from teaching when I was diagnosed and treated for Breast Cancer. I am now a survivor and work at Onyx Mind Body teaching two days a week and loving it. All my clients are still with me. My husband and I love traveling and when Julia Kadarusman the owner of Onyx mind Body told me about your progam I knew this is what I should do at this time in life. The best of both worlds for me teaching and getting to see new places.
