I have been in the fitness industry for approximately 20 years. I have a BA from Wake Forest University in sociology and a background in dance. I have been teaching aerobics (all aspects) since 1994. I have owned my own fitness center for 11 years and acted as the owner/operator. I love to teach and motivate others to experience the joy of movement. I have expanded my own horizons in the last several years to include some mind/body classes such as yoga, pilates, and a combination of the two. I also love to teach Zumba and spinning. And I can go back to "old school" with step and Hi-Lo with the best of them!
I visited Punta Cana once and they were talking about leading a Zumba class on the beach. I said "oh! I love Zumba, I teach it at home"... So they pulled me out there and off I went. It was so much fun. And as it turned out, 2 ladies from my hometown were there!! So I made 2 new friends I'd never met before from home all the way in the Dominican Republic! What fun!
I love to travel- but still enjoy my work outs, even on vacation~ A co-worker said he teaches through Fitness Professional Travel and suggested I apply. I am very excited to learn more information about the program and hopefully schedule something soon.
