My passion for fitness started at 36 when healthy living became a natural part of my life. Prior to that in adolescent years, I was active in English horse riding and marching band, which is where I developed upper and lower body tone. While graduating from the University of West Florida then Georgia State University, I focused mainly on my career in Marketing Communications. After years in “corporate America,” I realized life is about balancing mind and body. I eagerly entered into a gym to start my fitness journey with light cardio and toning workouts. I gradually developed an obsessive passion for health and wellness and helping others achieve their fitness goals.
I became certified to teach a barbell strength program in 2007 followed by kickboxing in 2010. I earned a Group Fitness certification in 2012 and added aqua, circuit training, HIIT and other strength/cardio programs to my teaching list.
I have juggled a Marketing career and home life with my “rescued” children – chocolate Labrador Retrievers – while continuing my passion for fitness. I understand personally the challenges of being a career woman and trying to fit in exercise. I am proud to be a fit and mature woman in the 50+ category (shhh…don’t tell anyone!). I hope to share my enthusiasm for fitness with other fitness-minded individuals.
