Maureen Solomon Maureen's extensive education and experience in the fitness industry has spanned an extraordinary 20 years. Throughout her career, Maureen's direction has changed the face of Group Fitness. Her programs were nominated by Gold's Gym International as one of the top five programs in the Gold's Gym Universe of over 650 gyms. Closer to home, a number of Maureen's classes were recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as being amongst the "Toughest Workouts in the City". Maureen's signature class, "To the EXTREME" has a cult following amongst the hard core type.
Solomon is a long time Philadelphia resident and fan. Her zest for fitness is only equaled by her love for the city. "Philadelphia is an remarkable city with incredible diversity, art, culture and accessibility" There is so much to do and see in this great city, not to mention great places to workout, both inside and out!
As a Drexel Graduate, with a BS in Interior Design and extensive studies in Psychology and Human Behavior, Maureen still found the time to play Varsity Lacrosse and Field Hockey. After the Birth of her son, Maureen returned to school and received an A.S. in Physical Therapy from Harcum College. She is now a Board Certified and Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, working per diem in Outpatient rehabilitation.
Maureen has made a number of live appearances as a Fitness Expert for NBC10 news. She is also a fitness model and has been featured in many fitness videos. QVC showcases her ability as a fitness expert for many of its Live product airings.
Philadelphia Sports Club is recognized both regionally and nationally as one of the city's premier Health Clubs in large part due to Maureen's energy, knowledge and commitment to the fitness industry. She is driven to constantly improve and excel reinventing herself and her programs to bring new ideas to the fitness landscape of Philadelphia.
"I strive to recruit new people every day to the benefits of fitness. My goal and message is to give everyone I come in contact with a positive experience and goal to find health and happiness through a healthier way of life.
Maureen's' hobbies include snowboarding with her 19 year old son, mountain biking and adventure racing. Her coed team recently placed first in a 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour adventure race which included challenging segments of orienteering, mountain biking, kayaking and running. In quieter times, she loves to practice Yoga and play her guitar.
