I joined Gold's Gym in 2005 and immediately hopped into the group exercise room. I always played sports, and was used to that "group" or "team" setting. I instantly fell in love with the energy and enthusiasm. It was so motivating to be around other people and to be a part of something so entertaining. I always thought that not only my body was getting a workout, but my mind, too. I attended classes religiously, five days a week, Monday through Friday. After about a year or so, I thought, "Hey, I could do this" and inquired about how I, too, could become a group fitness instructor. I took my certification test, passed, and immediately got a job working at the gym that I started working out at. That was January 2009. It was so nice to have everyone's encouragement, being that we all knew each other already. I thought that it would be easy, but learned that it isn't quite as easy as it looks standing up at the front, calling the shots. After about six months, I finally found my groove. There is no better reward than seeing gym members sweating, grunting, panting, and not to mention, the looks on their faces are priceless. It is now April 2012, and it has been three years since I've been teaching. Teaching aerobics is so rewarding. I would not trade it for the world.
