I played baseball in high school and was on track to receive a baseball scholarship, but was inspired by Bjorn Borg to learn the game of tennis. I taught myself with a how-to book at a city court in my hometown of Battle Creek, MI. I became good enough to be hired as the hitting partner for Bob Blaze who was ranked 210 in 1978-79 and toured the professional circuit with him. Unfortunately, my playing career was cut short when I was shot in the back by robbers while working at an 84 Lumber Store in Springfield, IL. After recuperating I decided to teach tennis as a career and moved to Florida. There I taught in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and now Key West.
I have been employed by Sports International and by Mark Burns as a visiting tennis pro for both SuperClubs and Sandals Resorts.
