Anne Marie Lindauer, Anne, grew up in Los Angeles, California. In her teens, she moved to southern Oregon and graduated from Rogue River High School in Rogue River, Oregon. From there, she pursued an undergraduate degree in Health Education from Oregon State University and received her Masters Degree in Public Health from San Diego State University.
It is safe to say, most of Anne's leisure time is spent on a dance floor. During her formative years, she studied ballet, hip-hop, modern, jazz, African, swing, country, and belly dancing. Partner dancing in ballroom and latin styles was always her favorite. She was a high school cheerleader and a member of the Oregon State University Ballroom Dance Club.
Anne began taking Zumba at a gym in Los Angeles in 2007. She instantly connected to the dance moves and familiar rhythms. Exercise was typically a painfully boring experience in the gym, but Zumba brought the dance floor vibe to her daily exercise routine. The hour of exercise felt more like 15 minutes of fun. When Anne returned to southern Oregon in 2009, she was happy to discover that Zumba was offered at the local gym. About three months later, Anne was offered a fitness instructor position at the Medford YMCA teaching Zumba. Today, Anne is certified to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba, and Zumbatomic.
