- Jim Berrigan
Jim Berrigan is entering his 13th year as head coach of the Babson College men's and women's tennis teams. Berrigan came to Babson after coaching the men's and women's programs at the Wentworth Institute of Technology from 1995 to 1999. Since his arrival, Berrigan has guided the women's team to 127 total victories, giving him the most wins by any coach in program history. He also guided the Beavers to their first two NEWMAC Championships in 2001 and 2003, including a sweep of the conference in the latter campaign.
A 1983 graduate of Newton North High School, Berrigan graduated from Framingham State College in 1988 with a BA in economics, and later received a postgraduate degree in sports marketing from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario, in 1992. Berrigan first matriculated at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he excelled in tennis, playing second singles and first doubles. He then transferred to Framingham State in his sophomore season, where he helped lead the Rams' tennis team to an ECAC bid in his first year. Berrigan also enjoyed an excellent basketball career at Framingham State, guiding the Rams to the ECAC finals in his junior season and setting an NCAA record for most consecutive three-point field goals made in a game with 10 against Western New England College during his senior season.
Berrigan has worked professionally for Branada Sports Communications in Toronto, State Street Corporation of Boston, and for Paymentech in Salem, N.H. He currently resides in Hampstead, N.H. with his wife, Ann, and two children, Jack and Maggie.
