I was raised in Virginia Beach, VA. I have been dancing since I could walk, choreographing and performing “shows” for my family and friends. I began my formal dance training at the age of 16 and went on to earn a BA in Dance from Old Dominion University. During my training, I was awarded the Liberace Scholarship for the Performing Arts. Upon graduation, I moved to New York City to gain more exposure to the world of dance. I have trained at various schools in Manhattan such as Broadway Dance Center, Martha Graham, and Alvin Ailey. Also a fitness enthusiast, I was thrilled with the advent of ZUMBA because of its fusion of dance with fitness. I am currently a licensed ZUMBA instructor and I am also AFAA and CPR/AED certified. I currently teach Zumba and other formats for New York Sports Club, Lucille Roberts, and Life Clubs as well as Piloxing at a local studio.
