I am a 38 year old wife and mother of two and I absolutely LOVE exercising and staying in shape. I work full time as an elementary school teacher, and then hurry to the studio every afternoon where I lead a SPIN class and then a Zumba class!
While I have always been active and enjoyed light physical activity, I have never been in the shape that I am in currently! It all began when a new studio opened in town and I dropped by out of curiousity. Then, again out of curiousity, I tried a Spin class. A friend and I challenged each other to go to 100 classes in a row without missing, and then we would do something really great for ourselves. We have now done well over 250 classes - and still have not done anything really great for ourselves - but, we both are in the best shape of our lives and still LOVING exercising!!
As SPIN gained popularity in our small town the owner of the studio, Bridgett Johnson, asked me to please become certified in Spin. She wanted me to begin teaching a class geared towards teachers and high school students that would begin just after the school day ended. I was enormously flattered, but had never thought of myself as "athletic!" I do, though, love a challenge, so I took a SPIN class taught by Mad Dogg Athletics (the creators of the SPIN program) and fell even more in love with the SPIN program. I am totally convinced of it's value, as I've seen it get results in dozens of people in the studio! And, my Spin class has become quite popular. I truly enjoy challenging my students to give each ride their best, and my students love it!
The next big sensation to hit our studio is the Zumba fitness program. I've always loved to dance, so this is a perfect fit for me. I became certified as an "Official Zumba Instructor" in September of 2011, and have been leading others to dance and laugh their way to fitness ever since!
