Allan Orchard

I turned pro at 16 years old in a squad at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of Wimbledon, under Britain's Davis Cup Captain Roger Taylor. At the age of 17,  I was ranked number 5 in the UK and achieved quarterfinal placement or better at the Junior Nationals on all 4 surfaces. After playing professionally for 5 yrs, which was cut short by injury, I qualified as a Coaching Professional under the Lawn Tennis Association. I have been coaching for the past 20 years and have achieved "Coach of the Year" and "Club of the Year".

I have coached all ages levels from beginners to performance players, and have had particular success with juniors with natural athletic ability but without any tennis skill and coached them to national success. I also enjoy mentoring other coaches. With adults, I combine teaching technique with realistic games based drills. I find this maximizes player's potential quickly.

When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and carp fishing!
