After graduating college with a degree in Sociology I really found myself developing a passion for fitness after all those years of unhealthy college habits. On a whim I decided to train for a full marathon as part of the American Stroke Association Train To End Stroke Team. I surpassed the fundraising goal and finished all 26.2 miles- and this was the first race I ever competed in! I went on to start running in 10ks, 5ks, any k for fun! I also trained with a woman's-only triathlon group and completed my first triathlon-which was fabulous! Later on I completed a Master's Degree in School Counseling and while working with "at-risk" students I took them on outside jogs to show the power of exercise for stress relief and pure enjoyment. After taking group fitness classes for years at my local "Y" I realized I really wanted to teach so that is exactly what I did. I now teach Spinning and am hoping to branch out into strength training, aerobics and other group fitness classes. I'm newly married and my husband and I really enjoy bike riding together, I even got him to run in his first organized race, an 8K Turkey Trot this past Thanksgiving!
