Sara Weakley

I began to study yoga on a trip to India and it has changed my life. I decided that I wanted to train as a teacher and found the most wonderful school, Yoga Therapy Ireland.

I have trained with some of the best teachers in Ireland as well as visiting yogis, Tara Fraiser and  Zoe Knott to name but a few.

The course taught me that yoga is for everyone, not just for those of us who can bend ourselves like a rubber band. It can heal the mind and body regardless of age or physical agility. It taught me to listen to my body and to allow the breath to take me in and out of each posture. I learnt that yoga is not about competing to be the most flexible person on the mat, fantastic if that is the case, but it won't necessarily make me a better teacher.

I have just graduated form this course of 650 hours and feel that I have so much to learn yet at the same stage I have lot to give as a teacher. My style is therapeutic and gentle and above all safe. I have completed two years of anatomy and physiology with a stong emphasis on alignment.

This yogic journey led me to massage. It was on my second trip to India that I became more interested in this field. The Tibetan singing bowls were a happy accident and their magic has brought so much healing to my clients and to myself. I have finished my massage training with a CIBTAC diploma qualification.
