Elizabeth Fortener

My name is Elizabeth Fortener.  I have been a physical therapist for the past 6 years working in outpatient orthopedic and sports settings.  I work mostly on athletes and active adults of varying ages.  I am certified in the use of the Graston Technique, which is a form of soft tissue mobilization.  More recently I have become a certified FAKTR provider, which incorporates the use of the Graston Technique in a functional manner and has helped improve my outcomes with patients.  I have always been interested and active in sports.  When I was in high school, I played soccer, basketball, and participated in field events in track.  In college I played multiple intramural sports and was on the club soccer team.  I currently try to play as much volleyball as I can.

At this time, I am enrolled in a 9 month holistic nutrition certification program, which is extremely interesting.  Everything that I am learning is the opposite of what social media puts out and what I learned in school.  Scientifically and historically though, everything I am learning makes sense.

My other interests are learning (anything and everything), traveling, hanging out with friends, and reading.  One of my personal goals is to each year, take a trip to somewhere I have never been.  In the future I would like to really learn French (3 years of French in high school just will not cut it if I want to spend any significant amount of time in France or any other French speaking country!)
