Sherry Carbeck

Sherry has always been a health and fitness enthusiast.  She has been involved in every possible sport during her school years and has continued a consistent and rigorous exercise regimen to this day.  To complement her workout routine, Sherry started practicing yoga to gain more flexibility.  She discovered yoga in 2006 when a friend, who is a yoga teacher, convinced her to attend one of her classes for that very reason – to complement her workout routine.  So she gave yoga a try and, after attending her first yoga class, she did not turn back.  Sherry said that is it was “love at first breath.”  Not only did she love how she felt physically after yoga, she realized it was much more than that.  In addition to gaining more flexibility, there was a new sense of awareness and peacefulness.

Sherry earned her 200 hour yoga certification in March 2010 through Mitchel Bleier Yoga Teaching Training.  She has had the honor to attend workshops taught by Mitchel Bleier, Bryan Kest, Kathryn Budig, Simon Park and Tiffany Cruinshank.

Sherry’s yoga teacher training along with her great interest in health and fitness has created opportunities for her to teacher core and strength classes.  Along with her yoga teachings in private, corporate and group settings, Sherry teaches core and strength classes using a variety of props/weights, as well as group cycling classes.

Sherry draws inspiration from the many great local Cleveland area and internationally known yoga teachers, her family and her friends.  She wants to share all the benefits that yoga has to offer with as many people as she can hoping to make their lives more healthful and peaceful.

Sherry follows Hatha yoga philosophy – the idea of purifying the body, maintaining the prana and living a long time.  For Sherry, yoga is a meditation in motion, where you are using your breath to connect the body with the mind.
