James Truesdale

My name is James Truesdale, I reside in Greensboro, N.C.  I am very interested in becoming a part of the Fitbodies Inc.  I currently teach Zumba twelve times per week, and every class seems more amazing  than the last!  I have been teaching  Zumba for two years, and have grown a following  that has allowed me to change careers and  have my own dance studio.  Zumba is my full time career which gives me an opportunity to apply for this position confidently.   Zumba has allowed me to give back to the community in so many ways. 

                One way I helped build our community was on Jan 21 2012,  I participated in local community group called Jocks & Jills.  Jocks & Jills is a minority community group designed to expose children to different cultural activities to promote diversity.  Well the month of January was on fitness,  I taught the kids and parents Zumba for an hour followed by a Q and A and why exercise is so important.  It was very inspiring.

                Another way I helped bridge our community was our participation in our local Martin Luther King Day Parade.   I registered us to march in the parade, bringing about 30 class members with me we marched, stopping every block to  do a Zumba break down.  We also danced as we marched  down the street encouraging the community that anyone can dance and have fun and lose weight at the same time.   This experience was so amazing and heartfelt because people of all different backgrounds were dancing and smiling together.

                Last but not least was our Greensboro March of Dimes, this is my second year at this event.  I was responsible for the warm-up for the entire walk.  Before the walk started I performed two Zumba songs to warm up a crowd of over 1500 people.  Last year I did this alone but this year I brought a team of six class members and we made sure everyone started the walk with smiles.  It’s so awesome to be a part  of an industry in which people who think they have absolutely nothing in common realize that the one thing they do have in common is the love of dance.

                I really hope you consider my application for this position because It will give me a bigger platform to help more people.  I love dance, it makes me feel amazing and I love sharing my knowledge.  With those two attributes I believed I would be great for this position, I will work hard and make sure to be informative to everyone.
