I have been an advid cyclist for many years. I started indoor cycling about 4 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. After attending cycling classes about 5 to 6 times a week, I decided to become an instructor myself. I attended a training session held by our local cycling director's at my club. I then had to audition before I could be hired and the audition was held in front of the directors along with several other cycling instructors and regular indoor cycling participants. I was did not even get a chance to finish my entire set that I had prepared and was hired immediately. I am a music junkie and love being able to use a god given talent and help motivate people.
I have taken the AAFA indoor cycling training and recently attended a Schwinn Indoor Cycling training and certification. I am super excited about what I learned after attending the Schwinn training and have taken that excitement back into my classes that I teach. My students love this new style of teaching and my classes are full each week. I currently teach 2 classes a week at Max Fitness on Monday and Thursday evenings at 5:45 p.m. I sub for other classes when needed as well.
I also bought a real road bike 3 years ago so I could experience what I am trying to simulate in the classroom. I completed my first metric century ride 2 years ago and I can't wait to accomplish my first century ride before the end of summer. I love riding outside as well as inside and my enthusiasm for this sport is very evident as my students will tell you.
I would love to have the opportunity to teach my indoor classes at a resort where people are wanting to maintain a level of fitness while enjoying themselves on a great vacation!
