Come get your groove on with us!!!
My life’s path took me in a different direction from dancing, but I never stopped. Before moving to Colorado in 2003, I was taking Lyrical and Hip Hop classes at Broadway Dance Center as a form of exercise and stress relief. When I moved here I experimented with several studios, but just didn’t find what I was looking for. It wasn’t until I attended my 1st Zumba class that I found the same intensity of exercise and the stress release, nearly seven years later! Zumba fitness exercises your body and mind and I truly believe both need to be exercised to stay healthy.
I hail from Brooklyn, New York and come from a family of dancers. My grandmother and mother were both professional dancers so dancing is in my blood. I attended the School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School and what is now known as the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. I studied Jazz, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Hip Hop and Ballet. I am Puerto Rican, English and Lebanese so through my earlier years I would Salsa and Menengue with my mother’s side of the family, and traditional Lebanese and belly dances with my father’s side at family parties. When life took me in another direction from being a professional dancer, I got involved in weight training, Pilates, TRX training and Aerobics as well as returning to dancing to stay in shape. I still do these forms of exercise but since finding Zumba fitness, it is now my number one way of staying in shape. If fulfills my love of dance and desire to be healthy and fit. “Dancing your way to fitness”
