RAYLENW WILLIAMS

I have been involved in the fitness industry since age 11.  It began approximately 18 years ago, when I started taking martial arts.  I learned the beauty of Tae Kwon Do; that it is so much more than simply kicking and punching.  In addition to the physical benefits, such as toning muscles, increasing endurance, gaining strength, and maintaining a healthy weight, fitness has many mental benefits.  These include building self-confidence, learning self-discipline, respect, and more!  I began teaching children and adults Martial Arts at age 16.  I took a break from teaching when I departed to college, but continued to remain active with physical exercise.  A few years after college, I took up a new challenge: boxing!  I trained for two years and competed in several competitions such as Golden Gloves; however, as a result of numerous shoulder injuries, I had to give it up.  Soon after, I stumbled across Zumba, loved it, and became licensed.  To improve my Zumba, I decided to take a Yoga class to loosen my hips, and was amazed by the beauty of Yoga.  It helped me so much on and off my mat and transformed my life!  With Zumba and Yoga, I decided to spread the joy of movement!  I also appreciate all that the community has done for me and try to give back to the community as much as possible by hosting or participating in as many fundraisers/charity events as possible.  I love bringing people together and hope to continue to spread the love wherever this journey takes me!
