My name is Michele and i'm from Central, New Jersey. I've been in the fitness industry for the past 2 years, however, I have been active every since I was little with cheerleading, gymnastics and karate. When I graduated high school I went on to Rowan University to obtain a bachelors degree in Business. I soon found myself bored with my major and extremely interested in the Health and Exercise department, but I didn’t want to be a phys ed teacher. I began researching the department and found a major in fitness and health promotion and kicked myself for not figuring this out sooner. I applied and got accepted into the school of education and pursued my love of fitness. After the first semester, I got certified in Spinning, AFAA Primary Group Exercise and Turbo Kick. In addition, I started working at the Student Recreation Center (REC Center) as a Group Exercise Instructor and Building Manager. I taught various classes such as: Step, Bosu Step, Step & Sculpt, Turbo KickTM, Spinning, Power Abs, Water Aerobics and Strength & Endurance. As a BM, I was able to understand what it is like to operate and run a gym.
I graduated in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Fitness Management and a minor in Business Management. Currently, I work for a leading fitness and wellness company called MediFit TM that contracts with various companies that want to provide worksite wellness. On a daily basis, I supervise and monitor exercise participants, perform fitness assessments, create exercise prescriptions, design workouts for a variety of clients (including high risk clientele), design and implement incentive programs and instruct a series of group exercise classes. On the side, I continue to teach the 5 energy zones through Johnny G Spinning for a local hospital’s health and wellness gym.
