Growing up I played about every sport that was available to me. From high jumping to volleyball to gymnastics, I did it all. It wasn't until I was in college in Austin that I discovered yoga & fell in love. Upon moving to Boston to pursue my Master's degree in Mental Health counseling I continued to practice and was inspired by how yoga and mental health are so intimately related. I decided to get certifiied with two of my teacher's who I greatly admired and respected for their different but complementary approaches to this ancient practice.
After being certified, I taught private lessons and children's yoga classes on a psychiatric inpatient unit. I then began teaching at local Boston studio until I graduated with my Master's and moved back to Texas. I'm am currently teaching corporate yoga classes, pursuing my certification as a Licenced Professional Counselor and continually trying to find the ways in which yoga and mental health relate and complement each other.
