My name is Jean Ann Murphy. I have always had a passion for fitness and competition. After the birth of my first child, I was certified through Mad Dogg Athletics (Spinning) to teach group cycle. Initially, I was looking for a way to quickly shed some pregnancy pounds, as well as fill the void in my life after leaving my corporate job to raise our children. I never knew how much I would LOVE teaching cycle. I decided to also obtain a group exercise certification and began teaching Sculpting and Bootcamp as well. A few years later, I became certified in Barre, which has become a huge passion of mine. I love combining the cardio of spinning with the sculpting in the Barre program to help people with their overall fitness routine.
I also love running and triathlons! My competitive nature makes "racing" a great way to guage the improvements I have made to my fitness level over time. My job as a fitness instructor has been so fulfilling as I watch people literally change their lives by incorporating health and wellness into their every day. I have established a regular following of early morning cyclists who keep each other motivated to continue to lose weight, stick with their routine, and also take their fitness to the next level. I have watched people lose 100 pounds, run their first half and full marathons, and compete in IronMan events. I am personally inspired by what I see in the gym every single day.
Fitness has also been incorporated into my childrens lives very early on. My two boys (now ages 9 and 6) enjoy running, hiking, swimming, and anything "sporty". I am so glad the choices I have made to stay fit and committed to a healthy lifestyle are rubbing off on my kids. I am so excited about the opportunity to travel with Fit Bodies, Inc.!
