Simon Richardson

I was born in the UK, and moved to the USA in 1989. I am 5’10” tall, brown hair, blue eyes and weigh 154 lbs. I’ve been competing in triathlons and club road cycling racing for several years, and am the co-founder and current president of the Patuxent River Triathlon Club (Southern Maryland). I started Spinning® in the winter months to keep up bike fitness and build base for summer triathlon/cycling racing season. I have placed in several triathlon age group local races, including many first places. After a few years of taking Spinning® classes I decided to become a Spinning® instructor to bring the cycling skills I’ve learned on the road into the classroom. My certification is with Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc. I am Star level 2 certified. I am also Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified. I have designed and developed many of my own Spinning rides that simulate the real world of cycling. One particular ride is a Strength ride that replicates a mountain stage of the Tour De France. It was published on Spinning.com by Mad Dogg™ Athletics, Inc for all their instructors to use. My customers keep returning because I present safe, uplifting, hard workouts that make them feel physically energized and mentally stronger than when they walked in the door. I teach weekly classes at two separate facilities in Southern Maryland. Apart from the safety of the patrons, my main objective is to provide the right experience for first timers. Setting up a new patron on the bike is critical for comfort and prevention of injury. Easing new riders into the wonderful world of indoor cycling is key for them to fall in love. Music plays a critical role towards a positive Spinning® experience. I pay special attention to meshing profiles and music playlists together to provide smooth flowing rides. I use music from all genres to maximize the experience. I have received many compliments for my music selections.
