I have loved taking group exercise classes since I was old enough to take them. When I was finishing up college I decided I should get certified to teach as a side job. Although I knew engineering was going to be my full-time career, I didn't want my dream of teaching classes to be forgotten. After getting certified and teaching classes for a couple months, I realized that not only is teaching group exercise was a fabulous side job, but it was rewarding to encourage others in obtaining their fitness goals and it was so satisfying to get to use my creativity in the gym. As a grad student, I taught multiple classes ranging from step, cycle, sculpt, kickboxing, and even prenatal/post-partum aerobics and senior aerobics. I gained a ton of experience in my first year. Now I work full-time as a water resources engineer in Davis, CA. I presently teach a step and strength class at Signature Athletic Club in Carmichael, CA which I have taught since 2005 and a Boot Camp class at Davis Swim & Fitness in Davis, CA which I have taught since 2005. Although these are my long-standing classes, I have taught many other classes over the years. In addition to teaching, I enjoy cycling, hiking, backpacking, baking, walking my dog, and of course traveling around the world.
