I have been a health and fitness enthusiast for many years. I was always an active child using dance and karate as ways to keep myself moving and healthy. I was a competitive dancer for over 20 years and continued dancing in college as a member of the nationally ranked St. John's University Dance Team. As I grew older and saw my father working out and lifting weights in our basement, I became intrigued with the world of fitness. I began working out with weights and trying various group fitness classes. I loved how I began to feel because of it.
I then became a personal trainer in 2007 through NASM and began training clients one on one. I also started teaching group fitness strength classes. I truly LOVED helping people get fit and actually enjoy it! I never stopped dancing though! As I was training clients and teaching classes, I also became the head coach of the Long Island University C.W. Post Dance Team.
I was told by a friend in 2010 that with my dance fitness background, I would love teaching Zumba. I wasn't quite sure what it was, but decided to sign up for the all day workshop. I WAS HOOKED! I began teaching Zumba in July 2010 and have loved every second of it. Since then I have become licensed in all Zumba formats as well as many other fitness formats. Zumba helped rejuvenate my passion for fitness! I have since then changed careers from a high school Biology teacher, to a full time Fitness Instructor.
