Betsy Opyt RD, LD/N, CDE  Owner of Healthy Concepts Consulting

Bio:

Betsy’s inspiration to become a dietitian started at the early age of 14 and she has passionately worked in this field since then. Motivating others to make positive changes in their health is her main drive.  She graduated from Ball State University with a degree in dietetics and completed her internship through Purdue University. She is a licensed and registered dietitian as well as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She specializes in diabetes, cardiac health, weight management, sports nutrition, and preventative health through nutrition therapy.  Having been an athlete all her life, Betsy knows the importance of a balanced body and how food and fitness relates to wellness. Her background as an NETA aerobics instructor and yoga teacher, Physical Mind Institute pilates instructor, and a ACE personal trainer, and AEA water aerobics instructor, combined with her nutrition expertise, give her the knowledge to help people make healthy lifestyle changes that will change their lives.


Betsy is not only a professional in her field, but she walks the walk and talks the talk.  She has over 12 years of experience in the area of nutrition and fitness and in that time has build a successful consulting business.  She was the Clinical Nutrition Manager at the Cleveland Clinic and also the Diabetes Coordinator and educator.  She was featured in People magazine and is currently consulted by NBC2 and local magazines as a nutritional professional for featured articles and news highlights. She has been doing professional speaking series for over the past 12 years. She started with the Department of Education in Indiana while Miss Indiana and now speaks at professional conferences and corporations such as Arthrex.  Betsy's energetic seminars, classes, and wellness programs leave you feeling motivated to make change, educated to make better choices, and confident that you can make a difference in your health.
