Luiz Mota has an extensive background in yoga and martial arts. Since the age of 6, he began learning and competing in martial arts. In his teens, he started training other competitors, which began his interest and understanding of working with people with injuries.
As an adult, he tried other interests, and ended up enrolling into the mortuary science school, where he was introduced to a deeper understanding of anatomy. He soon realized his true passion, and went back to pursuing his study of yoga and martial arts. However, he took his extensive knowledge of anatomy of the body to yoga, which has helped to shape his classes and teachings.
Luiz infuses his classes with multiple disciplines. His classes are based in Hatha and infused with Vinyasa, Iyengar, Anusara and Kundalini. After years of studying martial arts and different styles of yoga in Miami, New York City, LA, and various other places in the country, he has taken what he has learned and developed a way to safely access the muscular and neuromuscular systems of the body to help clients achieve their goals. His diverse classes combine Yoga, Ballet, Pilates and Martial Arts to increase neuromuscular efficiency, body posture, balance, strength and power. He is registered with Yoga Alliance as a E-RYT 200 yoga teacher, YACEP, and has his RYT 500.
