Kelly began teaching aerobics after her first daughter was born over 13 years ago.  She went on to earn her MADD Dog Spinning Instructor certification and a Pilates I and II certification. Embracing her success with hiring a personal trainer, she decided to take her fitness certification to another level and become a trainer as well.  Additionally, she has also presided as president of the Chesapeake Bay Running Club and been active member of the club for over 14 years.

"Although I have always dabbled with exercise and was an active child/teenager, I became serious about exercise after the birth of my first daughter in 1999.  It was at this time that I became a certified in Group Fitness, Spinning, and Pilates.  It was also during this time my husband and I joined the Chesapeake Bay Running Club and took on the Solomons Jingle Bell Run 5k for Arthritis.  We have directed the event for the past 13 years.  It has grown into a fun, family event with a hint of competition.  A couple of years later, I became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  I worked in the industry until about 2007, when I switched over to coaching gymnastics and taking a position as the Recreational Director at a facility in Waldorf.

After my oldest daughter “retired” from the sport of gymnastics, I had the time to get back into the fitness arena.  I renewed my certifications and HERE I am!!

I love teaching group fitness and providing a fun yet effective workout for my clients.  Although for years, I was primarily a Step and Spinning instructor, I loved training TBC (total body conditioning), Mat Pilates and Kickboxing as well.  Being able to modify a class to meet the needs of all client levels has always been important to me.  As an educator by degree (and still teaching computer classes on the side), teaching is a passion of mine…getting a little exercise too…is TOTAL BONUS!!"
