Eric Allen

Healthcare veteran Eric Allen is a widely recognized expert in the field of obesity. His expertise and advice has been sought after by corporations, groups and individuals alike, to create unique programs and services that support healthy lifestyles through wholesome eating and physical activity.

Eric is president and owner of the Atlanta-based, health recruiting company, Health Brokers of America (HBA). The company recruits high level medical professionals for many large health care providers.

Eric is also founder and executive director of the non-profit organization, The Vigor Consortium. The organization is dedicated to reversing childhood obesity in urban settings by developing cost-effective physical activity opportunities and improving access to healthy foods.  The Vigor Consortium works alongside local governments, non-profits and other businesses to bring anti-obesity initiatives to the State of Georgia.  Some of its strategic partnerships have included the Atlanta Public Schools, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, DeKalb County Parks and Recreation and the Fulton County School District.  At the present time, the organization is working to convert Atlanta’s urban landscape of empty buildings and vacant lots into bountiful fruit and vegetable farms.

Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (B.B.A.), a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with an emphasis on public health, and is currently working toward his Ph.D. degree in health services.
